About My Approach

Many reasons can bring someone to counselling. Perhaps it is a specific mental health concern such as grief, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or trauma, or maybe you are wanting to meet some personal behavioural goals, seek support in a specific area such as cancer navigation or a life transition, or are simply looking for a space to talk through something that is troubling you. I hope to help you work through difficult emotions, develop coping skills, and take meaningful steps towards reaching your goals while feeling supported along the way.

I take an integrative, collaborative, and client-centered approach, meaning that I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs and goals by drawing on aspects from a variety of theoretical approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Grief Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS). I believe that therapy should be a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment.

My Credentials

  • Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Biology from the University of Victoria

  • Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University

  • Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#21565)

A Little About Me

I was born and raised on Vancouver Island. I grew up in the Cowichan Valley and made a home for myself in Victoria, BC.  Like many on the island, I am drawn to the outdoors. I enjoy going for hikes, runs, walks, or bike rides, exploring different places on the island, and occasionally trying my best to capture bits of it with a pencil or paintbrush.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, sometimes over a good meal, a cup of coffee, a board game, or perhaps on an intramural volleyball team. I am also a thrifter of used books (but I have too many now and need to stop) and enjoy sitting in my armchair by the window reading with a cup of tea.
